Weekly Infusion of Encouragement
Romans 14:17-19 – “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”
The Holy Spirit works on both an individual and social level. He does a good work in each of us to bring us towards righteousness, peace, and joy. Yet, he also works to unite us as the community of believers so that, together as the Kingdom of God, we might rejoice with one another and build each other up. As a unified Kingdom of God, we have an opportunity to spread the Gospel of Christ, to be peacemakers, and give evidence to the good news of salvation. Our ultimate goal is to please God and we accomplish this through our love for him and others.
Do you know someone who needs peace in his or her life? Or perhaps you know someone who is still searching for true happiness? What can you say and do this week to share about the blessings Christ gives to those who are part of his family? Pray this week that God would give you the right words to say to those who need to hear a good word; pray that he might use you to share the truth about his amazing grace and the peace and joy that come with it.
