Weekly Infusion of Encouragement
Isaiah 41:9-10 – “I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant;’ I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Fear is probably the one thing that holds us back the most from acting out in faith. We fear the possibility of what might happen or we get scared of what someone might say or think. We scare ourselves with an infinite number of negative possibilities. With faith, however, we should fear nothing. We should fear nothing, no matter the obstacle or pain, because of the strength and courage that we receive from God. Take courage that God has chosen you specifically, don’t fear because he is always near, and never get discouraged because God, the ruler and creator of every last thing, is the God you serve.
What has fear kept you from doing this week? Who are you holding back from talking to about Christ because you are scared of what they might say? If you were to remember that God is with you, who might be that person you talk with about him? Pray that God would send his Spirit and fill you with the courage and strength you need to act out in faith. Take rest in his presence knowing that the creator of everything is with you always.
